

BIOGRAPHY
Vasil Ivanov The Editor is an electronic music artist hailing from Bulgaria. Enter the sonic universe of The Editor, where dark, melodic techno meets raw analog power. Known for creating deep, immersive soundscapes and specializing in analog mixing and mastering, The Editor has carved a distinct niche in the electronic music scene.
In 1999, he signed a contract with the record label Avenew Productions, which led to him composing music for several famous Bulgarian pop music stars over the next few years.
In 2002, The Editor co-wrote the hit song "Kakto Predi," performed by Toni, which became a chart-topping success in Bulgaria. The following year, he released his debut album with his band EDIT, which received critical acclaim and earned a nomination for Club Track of the Year on MMtv.
In 2005, The Editor was selected as one of 10 winners in a composition competition on the popular Bulgarian television program "The Slavi Show." Over the next several years, he continued to release many tracks and singles with his band EDIT, solidifying his reputation as a talented electronic music artist in Bulgaria.
In November 2010, The Editor left EDIT to pursue a solo career under his current artist name. He has since released numerous tracks and remixes on labels such as Insomnia FM, Balloon Records, Nueva, and George V Records. In 2014, he made a remix of Mozart's Opera Queen of the Night, which was featured on Buddha-Bar Classical Chillharmonic.
In 2015, The Editor produced the album "Timelessness" for the famous Bulgarian duo Avenue. He later earned a master's degree in Electronic Music & Sound Design from the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where he now works as a mentor.
In 2019, The Editor's sound design work on AudioKit Pro's synthesizer DIGITAL D1 HYBRID SYNTH earned the synth a spot in the Top 3 iOS Music Apps of 2018 Music Radar Awards. He also created sound packs for Traction's synths BioTek 2 and Subtractive, and was part of a sound design team with Taiho Yamada and Wolfram Franke, creating the factory sound bank for F.'em synth. Additionally, he created a sound bank for Taiho Yamada's synth MINIRAZE by MOK.
The Editor has collaborated with many artists and labels, including Valentina VoX, Ruth Koleva, Grafa, Poli Genova, Alma, Stenli, Slavi Trifonov, KVZ Music, and Warner Music Poland. His tracks have received widespread airplay on many radio stations and have been played on MTV.
In his most recent venture, The Editor has become the co-founder of Ultra Collective, an innovative electronic music label established in collaboration with KVZ Music Ltd. Ultra Collective focuses on discovering and promoting new talent in electronic music while pushing the boundaries of the genre with fresh and cutting-edge releases.
Through his dedication and passion for electronic music, The Editor has established himself as a prominent figure in the Bulgarian music scene and beyond.
